Crabman

Shane has decided that crawling the "normal" way just isn't working for him. As of a week ago he now crawls like a crab....are at least that is what we've named it....the crabman crawl. We've decided he does this because he can get around faster that way. It's pretty darn funny. Every now and then he'll break out the old style crawl, but just for a second or two and then right back to the crabman crawl.

Photography Class 101

Last month I started taking a photography class. It is 3 six hour classes. We bought a SLR camera at the end of last year, so I thought it would be helpful to have some idea of how to use it and to be able to take better pictures with it. I have taken two of the classes so far and I have learned so much, but there is still so much to learn. We were given homework after our 1st class. We were to take different pictures that helped us to get familiar with shutter speeds and aperture and to look at things around us that showed different shapes. The teacher looked at our 6 best pictures and gave us some feedback during the 2nd class. I didn't blow him away with my pictures, but I don't think they were horrible either. Here are a my favorite three.

He told me to try this one of Sadie again and see if I could focus in on all of her face (her nose is out of focus in this one). I liked the idea that her nose is circles.

The only thing he said about this picture was that I needed to crop out the dirt parts of it. More circles in the flowers.
This one he also said I need to crop out the top and bottom parts of it, but other wise the technique and such was good. Here I was trying to capture the triangles and rectangles.

I am on my way to being a professional photographer.....we'll not really, but I hope to be able to capture better pictures using manual instead of the safe zone of automatic.

First Hair Cut

After thinking about it for a month or so, we finally took Shane in for his 1st hair cut. I was anxious to let go of his baby locks and give way to a little boy. I didn't think that he would have a problem getting his hair cut. Man, was I wrong!!

So far so good......



Now this is NOT okay!!
( So far all that has happened is she has put water in his hair.)




All done, but still not sure if he has survived.

After a long ride home, with a lot of deep breathing, he is all smiles again. How grown up he looks!!!

I'm getting the hang of it!!!!

I am figuring out this blogger thing! In one night Kenny and I figured out how to post pictures, add videos and other assorted lists. It is coming together.

I think we have the power tonight because we had a Date Night this evening. Shane went to the neighbor's house for a few hours and Kenny and I went to dinner. We are refreshed and able to deal with all this crazy computer stuff after a few refreshing hours minus the little guy.
