Conversations With Shane

In the car on the way home from school today...

Me: Shane, what was your favorite part of preschool today?

Shane: (pause) Playing with Gillian.

Me: What did you guys play?

Shane: (more thoughtful pausing) saw Gillian's arm off (more thinking), ninja and baby.

Me: (laughing) Wow, that is quite a day at preschool.

later in the car....

Shane: Does Santa go to Hawaii?

Me: Yep, Santa goes to Hawaii.

Shane: If we were in Hawaii for Christmas Santa would bring our presents there?

Me: Yep, Santa would bring you your presents where ever you were on Christmas. Why? Are you planning on being in Hawaii for Christmas sometime?

Shane: Yes, when I grow up I'll be there. (Then he proceeded to tell Adalyn all about Hawaii and hotels and how someday she'll go there.)

His dream of living in Hawaii continues!! Sounds like a good plan to me.
