Craft Club -- April 2012

Wow...am I behind posting this awesome craft club project or what!?! Julie hosted this felt flower wreath craft, which I had been dying to make before summer arrived. We hadn't painted our house yet, but I knew that I wanted it to hang on my soon to be painted black door, so I picked colors around the new house colors. The felt flowers ended up being way easier to make then I thought they were going to be. It took me about an hour to wrap the styrofoam wreath in yarn (I did that before craft club). 

I am quite happy with the way it turned out and I just love it hanging on my awesome black front door. 

March Craft Club

Thanks to Laura for hosting our March Craft Club! We made cute picture frames using punches, buttons and acrylic letters. This was a pretty quick and easy project that any level of crafter (or non-crafter) could do. The options of what you could make are endless!

I made one for Adalyn's room.

It is a little hard to tell in the picture, but the buttons are on the outside of the glass giving the butterfly some dimension.

The acrylic letters are on the outside of the glass as well.

October Craft Club

I hosted this months Craft Club and stretched everyone's comfort zones by doing a sewing project. I had been wanting to make an apron for awhile and thought hosting craft club and having that as a project would be a great solution.

Thanks to everyone who brought along their sewing machines and irons. And for everyone's patience as many of us learned a new skill of sewing and patience with me as I am far from a sewing expert.

I think they all turned out beautifully!!!




Next month Craft Club is at Tia's house where we'll be making fabric flowers. I sure hope little Miss. Booth cooperates so that I can make it!!

October Craft Club

I will be hosting craft club on Saturday, October 9th. We'll be making an apron. I've been wanting to get my sewing machine out for awhile now and thought an apron seemed like a quick and easy project, plus I've been wanting one, too.

The best part is that the main portion of the apron is made from a towel, which makes for not a lot of sewing. A great project for all beginning sewers like myself.




An Evite to all Craft Clubs members will be going out soon with details on what supplies are needed, etc.

Craft Club

This month for Craft Club we made the cutest picture bracelets. I was so excited to make them. I couldn't decided on which sized frame to use, so I just had to make two. One using each size/design. They were pretty darn easy to make, too. As long as you didn't drop the string and loss all the beads off the end of them and have to start all over. Every now and then you'd hear beads hit the floor and some one groan. It happened to me on my 2nd bracelet and I ended up with a whole different design then I had originally started with. Everyone had such beautiful bracelets. So many different colors and designs. I loved every one of them!

Craft Club

This weekend we had our monthly craft club. We made soap, a brand new experience for me. It was a lot of fun and super easy. Who knew!! Thanks Julie J. for hosting.

I made 3 bars of soap for Shane. He is obsessed with soap in the bathtub right now. Most of them are still wrapped and waiting to become surprises as he earns them. But, this one he got today. You can pretty much put anything in soap. I "hide" a little duckie in this bar and the bottom and sprinkles in it. Lots of fun in the tub!

October Craft Club

This month Craft Club headed down south to Lynette's house.  We made Halloween Trees.  It was really cool to see how everyone's turned out totally different.  Most people made their trees using black Halloween Trees.  I decided to go a slightly different route so that I could use my "tree" all year long.  My goal is to decorate it for different seasons and various holidays.  After Halloween I'm going to turn it into a Fall look.  Then come December I'll go with a Christmas theme.  And will start the new year off with a Winter feel.  Of course I won't forget to use it for Spring and Easter!

I would like to add a few more pictures to it, but need to print a couple more out.   And the little pumpkins in the bottom of the glass container holding up the sticks are the cutest things ever!!

September Craft Club

This month Craft Club was at my house, which meant I got to pick the project.  It took me awhile to decide, but in the end we made Dry Erase Boards.  They are super cute, really easy and great to help you stay organized or give as a gift.

It was a small group this month, but a wonderful night chatting with the gals and being crafty.  We even had a new Craft Club member, Hope, come this month!

I had to put some finishing touches on my after wards, but here is my completed project.

Lynette's very creative board.  I know she can't wait to hang it up in her new room!! I just love the frame she picked out to use.

Sorry, Hope....we didn't get a picture of yours!  It was just as cute though.  I know your Husband will be super happy to know your work schedule from now on.

Completed Craft Club Project.

I've finally completed the July Craft Club Project. I was waiting on more paper before I could get it done. Thanks to Julie for a wonderful project idea. We used a poster mailing tube cut into almost 2 inch pieces. This will hang in Shane's room. (Click on image for a larger view).

The next Craft Club will Saturday, September 26th at my house. If you are interested in attending let me know and I can get you details. I haven't totally decided on a project. There are a few ideas swirling in my head.

Craft Club

Our monthly Craft Club met last night. Tia showed us her talents for painting, papering and modge podging wood items. Here are the two things I made. I used the new Bella paper packet from Close To My Heart's Summer Idea Book which "arrives" on May 1st! All other products on the pieces are from CTMH as well. I'm in love with the little birdie. Thanks Tia for your inspiration!
